Hello friends!

A very happy Monday to you. :) I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I was very fortunate to have had a weekend full of time with girlfriends, a manicure and pedicure, some ridiculously hard Insanity workouts, and dinner with my brother. Perfection!

This week is going to be a SUPER busy one! I'm doing some serious studying for my wellness coaching exam, talking with a web designer (woohoo!), publishing articles like crazy at Examiner.com, and flying to Dallas, Tx for a long weekend! Things are busy and will only get busier! I love it.

Let's talk Insanity for a little bit.

Day 15- Fit Test

Today marked the beginning of week 3 for my Insanity journey and I did the oh so fun and tiring Fit Test. The Fit Test is one way you are able to track your progress. You perform a series of 8 moves, each for a minute and you do as many reps of the move as you can! Every 2 weeks you take the Fit Test again to see where you are improving. Oh and it's also a nice workout at the same time if you are pushing as hard as you can. I'm always drenched after every Insanity workout but today's Fit Test was extra special. I pushed extra hard! :)

Here are my results (the moves won't make sense without having the program but you can see the change in numbers!)

Day 1                 Day 15

Switch Kicks 46                         60
Power Jacks 55                         61
Power Knees 78                         106
Power Jumps 27                          33
Globe Jump 10                          12
Suicide Jumps 14                          17
Push Up Jacks 18                          29
Low Plank Oblique 28                         37

Here are a few of the other discoveries I have had in the last 2 weeks:

1. ENORMOUS increase in my day to day energy. I don't crash in the afternoons and I keep working until 8 or 9 at night with continuous energy.

2. My stamina is ridiculous. I live on the 4th floor and now I can run up those stairs with little to no effort.

3. My upper body strength is unreal. I can do more push ups than I ever have in my life!

4. I feel strong. Overall I just feel alive and strong again.

5. My body is changing, everywhere! In a very cool, new way. I can feel the change is coming within and slowly starting to reflect on the outside.

Overall, I am having a blast with this program! I am challenged mentally and physically every single day. There is something that happens when I do an Insanity workout. I continue to bring everything from my day to the floor. I bring my frustration, excitement, energy, passion, desire to be better. I bring it all during the workout and I literally WORK IT ALL OUT! Right there in my living room. I regularly curse, cry, yell, and scream. And I love it! And no matter kind of a day I have had, no matter what type of mood I was in, I feel better and more accomplished after Insanity. While I've always considered myself a pretty passionate exerciser, this is new territory for me.

While I am having the time of my life doing this, I still stand true to my belief that this program is for individuals who already have some basic exercise foundation. You need to have the ability to do a lot of high impact moves (lots of jumping off the ground and to the floor) and be willing to push yourself each and every day past where you went before.

And yet, I think this is a phenomenal program for someone looking to do 1 of the following:

1. Get out of a fitness rut
2. Increase your endurance and strength (awesome for fitness instructors out there!)
3. Overall condition your body

Have an awesome day friends! Tomorrow marks the start of my Intuitive Eating week. I will be sharing my knowledge on what intuitive eating is and how to incorporate the principles into your own life. I hope you will come by to read and share your thoughts!

Question of the day: How do YOU spice up your fitness routine? What new things have you tried that have changed how you viewed exercise?
