Hey there world,

So this is it, this is me and this is my blog. I'm here to share, to learn, to meet and truly, to live better. I recently made some of the biggest changes in my life. I left my job (I know, everyone asks why I would do that by choice in this economy but trust me it the right decision), I recently got engaged, we bought our first home and now I'm building a new career in the world of wellness and fitness. How is that for a banging 2010!!! I think it's pretty fabulous actually and it feels darn near incredible!

I'm hoping that this blog will be a place for me to bring together everything I see, hear, learn about and discover in wellness, health, fitness, nutrition, balance, and just good living (oh and maybe just a bit about the wedding as our plans begin to explode over the next 6 months!). I have a tremendous amount to learn and I imagine I will learn a lot from you (yes, my beloved readers who likely don't exist yet but I hope will soon!).

Well let's just jump in to some new things, shall we? This week started off pretty big. I began my training with a company called Well Coaches. Check them out here. The program is 14 weeks and will certify me to be a wellness coach. Kind of a fancy-could-mean-just-about-anything title but it's quite an amazing field!

You see, I'm created for wellness coaching and wellness coaching was created for me. :) Well I know that's a bit dramatic but it sure does feel like a perfect match. A wellness coach helps you establish your health, fitness and nutrition goals so that you are able to attain optimum well-being. Optimum well-being, really Jenn? Well, it's a nice term that encompasses what makes you fulfilled and happy every day. It means living at YOUR BEST. And who doesn't want that? What gets you going in the morning, what allows your passions to shine through and what new behaviors do you want to incorporate in your life that simply make you stronger, healthier and better? I love this stuff!

This week was our introduction to Margaret Moore, the founder of Well Coaches. Is she inspiring! I had the opportunity to listen to her coach someone on our call and while there are so many things I could comment on, one of the coolest observations I made was that coaching allows the clients voice to be heard! Don't we all want to be heard? Don't we want someone to listen about our life, our frustrations, challenges, goals, dreams and desires? That is what a coach can be! Someone who partners with you in making your life better in the areas that YOU want!

One of the pivotal pieces to working with a client is developing their health and wellness vision. The vision is a picture of yourself, a clear picture of you and who you want to be. What that looks like, feels like and what behaviors will you be doing each day. This is one of the first pieces in coaching- deciding where YOU want to go and what your best could be! So naturally, I had to create my own vision! Here are some of my vision components:

– a strong mind and strong body, healthy self talk (you know, that voice that you hear in your head all day long!), consistent energy each day, professional satisfaction, healthy + balanced exercise, a loving marriage, taking action towards my goals and my dreams every single day

It was really cool to sit down, close my eyes and really picture who I want to be! This feels like the perfect time to do that as I am approaching my wedding this July. I have 6 months to work towards some of these dreams and my goals. 6 months is a long time if you are taking some action, even if it is a small one, each and every day. Just think of what might happen by July!

Well folks, I think that is enough for today. Till next time!
