To inspire

Hello beloved friends,

How are YOU on this fine day? Boston is a bit frigid and snowy. Well, frigid to me right now is low 30's. We've been practically balmy these last few weeks so the minute we drop below 35 I'm freezing my booty off. It's funny how quickly we adjust to changes in the temperature isn't it?

Today was busy busy busy busy busy! I'm getting ready for my trip tomorrow which means last minute shopping (must have a cute dress for my shower naturally), running to CVS to stock up on who knows what but I spent money there, followed by fitting in all the work I'm trying to do before I leave. Phew. But I do feel much accomplished. :)

Let's get on to the good stuff, shall we?

Workout Challenge DAY 24!!!

Look at us kids, we've made it to day 24! I didn't even know we had progressed past day 20 and here we are with less than a week left. Fabulous work. A job well done. I tell ya, set up a challenges friends! Get your girls or boys together, set some goals and keep each other motivated. There is nothing like having a team that is behind you when you are working towards something. I know we are all just starting to get acquainted (love the comments I'm getting!) but I truly have thought of you when I am about to workout. You give me an extra kick to my step and more determination to complete the workout when it's hard or push when I'm almost done. So thank you for that!

Today I went ahead and did a bit of cardio. It felt good to get my heart rate up and my energy is really coming back! Then I did Burn Circuit 2. This is the hardest one for me. My hands and forearms are still so weak compared to my back so the bent over rows and dead lifts are killers! I'm yelling the whole time. And then there is the bowler's lunge…don't ask. It's fabulous but the hardest part of the circuit. Check out this video. Gosh I love that woman! :)

As I said, I take off for homebound to Texas tomorrow. I am bringing all that I need to keep on schedule with my challenge so this is what I'm taking: 3 TurboJam cardio workouts, CE Burn Circuit 3, CE Burn Intervals + resistance bands. That's it! That is all I need to do 4 kick butt workouts while I'm home! I love the flexibility Beachbody programs offer- you can take them with you wherever you go!

Unexpected inspiration

I met a friend today for coffee. She's been an incredible support for me this last year as I slowly inched towards leaving my job and starting this new career. There were so many risks involved in the decision I made, at a time where the fiance and I were already dealing with a new home and planning a wedding and then some. This friend helped me navigate the unknown and ultimately decide to pursue my dream!

So today we were talking about various things…my career, coaching, the wedding, workouts, fitness, nutrition. Out of the blue she tells me that I been inspiring her for the last 2 months. She had started to workout every week, eat more nutritious foods and basically take care of herself again after not doing so in a long time! Now, I'm not telling you this to give myself some extra friend points here. I'm telling you because not only was I taken aback but I realized something so important about inspiration. I inspired her? This whole time I had been dumping all of my concerns, worries, uncertainties and fears about my life where unknowingly I was providing her motivation to make go after her dream of being a healthier and stronger woman!

Here is what I started to think about: We go about our day, making a million little decisions. We experience struggle, challenge, celebration and everything else that life deals us. What I don't ever take into consideration is that all of these little decisions I make can actually impact someone else watching closeby. You do that too. We all do! We are each so greatly influenced by our environment, our support system and the people we come into contact with, stranger or friend. And each day, we have the chance to inspire others around by simply being YOURSELF! By sharing yourself with others and by making the hard decisions that we know are right. And being true to who you know you are!

That's pretty powerful, no?  I took a moment this evening and looked up the definition of inspire. This is what I found:

To inspire is…

To affect, guide or arouse by influence. To fill with enlivening or exalting emotion.

To stimulate into action. To affect or touch.

To draw forth or elicit. To be the cause or source of.

To stimulate energies or ideals. To bring about.

Let your mind look over those words for a bit. Each of us has been inspired by someone in our life. I bet you can remember those moments vividly. Those moments are solidified in our memories because of the positive or powerful emotion tied to it.

My point tonight is not to focus on the compliments I was given today by a friend. More, to recognize the ability each of us has in spreading a positive influence in the world. Small actions, big actions, small moments or big moments. We all have that power to inspire.

So…how might you want to inspire people in your life? What knowledge, ideas or learning do you want to share?

The beauty of my experience today? I feel that my decisions to embark on my new career path has been reinforced. I want to impact people everyday with my coaching. I want people to feel the energy I felt when I took control of my health and my body. I want others to experience just how fully we can live our lives.

I leave you with some of the images that came up in my search for inspire.

I hope you have a wonderful evening. I shall join you tomorrow from the great state of Texas.

Yeehaw!
